How long have you been playing derby?

1 year.

How did you get started playing derby?

My girls previously played in the juniors league and I was intrigued, so I signed up for fresh meat as soon as it was announced.

What's your favorite thing about it?

The friendships I've made and all the camaraderie between my teammates.

How did you pick your derby name/number?

My name came from my favorite Golden Girl, Bea Arthur, plus my practice of witchcraft. My number was my middle daughter's favorite number when she was just a babe. Everything was 40-30.

What's your proudest accomplishment on the track?

The very few times I was able to take an opposing jammer off the track.

What's your gnarliest injury?

Completely obliterating my left ring finger during assessments. I just got my pins off!

How would you describe your derby playing style?

Chaotic good.

What are your goals for the season?

Continue to improve in skill and be able to start jamming in the 2026 season.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Nap. Napping is the best.
